18th-century America?
Then this tour is for you! Welcome to
Amish Country—a place where time seems to have stood still.
Located in
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, this unique region is home to the Amish, descendants of Protestant settlers who have chosen to preserve their traditional way of life and reject many aspects of modern technology and convenience.
The Amish live without electricity, do not drive automobiles, and dress much as their ancestors did when they arrived in America nearly
300 years ago. Visiting their communities feels like stepping onto the set of a historical film.
During this fascinating tour, you will visit:
- The Amish House & Farm Museum
- Kitchen Kettle Village, a charming shopping village where you can sample locally made foods, homemade jams, baked goods, cheeses, and other authentic Pennsylvania Dutch specialties
- Lancaster Central Market, one of the oldest continuously operating farmers' markets in the United States
A visit is especially rewarding in
September, when the harvest season is in full swing. You'll have the opportunity to purchase vine-ripened tomatoes and other fresh vegetables picked straight from local farms.
A journey to Amish Country is a truly unforgettable experience!
